Painful knotty shoulders? Sore creaky neck?

Painful knotty shoulders? Sore creaky neck?

I was with a new client this morning who was suffering with both of these symptoms. Often when people have neck and shoulder pain they ask for a Back, Neck and Shoulder massage, which is certainly effective to a degree but is it giving the best relief from your tension?

I always, always, ALWAYS, recommend people in this situation to go for an Indian Head Massage. It may (for some people) have a reputation as being a floaty, gentle, relaxing massage - and it certainly can be all of these things - but in my opinion it is one of the most powerful and effective therapies for neck and shoulder pain. The treatment actually focuses mainly on the neck, shoulders and upper back, and the seated position allows me much better and deeper access to your neck and the tops of your shoulders than if your were lying on a massage table. Often tension in one area radiates out to other muscles around it, so by working on your upper back, neck, shoulders, arms, scalp and face an Indian Head massage can really get to the bottom of knots and tension. It can also help to alleviate headaches and anxiety, and work on the pressure points of the face can help with sinus pressure.

So did it help my client this morning? Well he was definitely a lot looser in the shoulders, his neck was less painful ... and he's rebooked for next week. In fact, I find that nearly everyone who tries out an Indian Head massage does rebook for another quite soon afterwards!

If you have any questions at all, or if you're unsure what sort of massage would suit you best , just give me a call and I'll talk you through it all. xxx
